I am happy to show you all my solo project, my own songs. My #first album is an EP with 4 songs I have been working on while I was also working in Plastic Ono Man.

El pasado 17 de Abril dí por finalizado el proyecto de la mejor manera posible: con un concierto gratis para toda la gente que haya podido estar siguiendo el proyecto durante todo este tiempo.

Me acompañaron en el directo dos grandes músicos y amigos, Gabo y Miki Garcia, para tocar el álbum entero y luego se incorporó Vicen Martinez, para hacer todos juntos el resto del repertorio.

El objetivo fué, además de tocar y disfrutar, tener la oportunidad de explicar en persona cuáles son mis planes de futuro; qué habrá después de Plastic Ono Man. Y así fué: además del repertorio del álbum, nos atrevimos a tocar “Jealous Guy”, “Strawberry Fields Forever” y “Revolution” de Lennon y, para dar más sentido a lo que viene en un futuro, “Can’t Make a Sound” de Elliott Smith (gran influencia personal) y “Find”, un tema propio. Porque esa era la notícia que quería compartir en el concierto: que en adelante “abandono” a John y me centro en componer mi propio material.

Plastic Ono Man me ha enseñado mucho y desde hace un tiempo, en paralelo, estoy maquetando ideas e intentado dar forma a un proyecto propio. Espero poder compartir en breve alguna de esas ideas!

Acabé el concierto y el proyecto con una sonrisa, contento con el resultado y con toda la energía necesaria para seguir haciendo música.

Gracias a todos los que vinisteis, a Miki, Gabo y Vicen por echarme un cable ese día y a todos los que habéis colaborado en Plastic Ono Man. Un abrazo fuerte!

On April 17 I completed the project in the best way possible: with a free concert for all people who may have been following the project during this time.

I was accompanied live by two great musicians and friends, Gabo and Miki Garcia, to play the whole album and then Vicen Martinez joined the band to do together the rest of the repertoire.

The aim was to play and enjoy and also have the opportunity to explain in person my future plans; what will be after Plastic Ono Man. And so it was: apart of the repertoire of the album, we dared to play “Jealous Guy”, “Strawberry Fields Forever” and “Revolution” of Lennon and, to give more meaning to what is coming on a future, “Can’t Make a Sound” by Elliott Smith (personal influence!) and “Find”, own song. Because that was the news I wanted to share in the concert: hereinafter “I leave” John and I focus on writing my own material.

Plastic Ono Man has taught me a lot and for a while, in parallel, I recorded some ideas and tried to shape my own project. I soon hope to share some of these ideas!

I ended the concert and the project with a smile, happy with the result and with all the energy needed to keep making music.

Thanks to everybody who came, to Miki, Gabo and Vicen for helping me that day and to all who have contributed to Plastic Ono Man. XO!

God are The Beatles, and here John is saying goodbye to Beatles days. Somehow I am also saying “Goodbye” to the Plastic Ono Man days. It has been an incredible experience to record all the songs of this classic album, learning from each step and enjoying every note I recorded.

The cover has been recorded live at GuitarRec with the friends that will join me in the concert (I mean party) next friday 17th April in Barcelona.

In the video you will also see some of the highlights of this last year and a half.

“God” son en realidad The Beatles, y aquí John está diciendo “adiós” a los dias de los Fab Four. De alguna manera, yo también estoy diciendo adiós a los dias de Plastic Ono Man. Ha sido una experiencia increible grabar todos los covers. He aprendido de cada paso que he dado y he disfrutado cada nota que he grabado.

El cover está grabado en directo en GuitarRec con los amigos que me acompañarán en el concierto (o mejor, fiesta) del próximo viernes 17 de Abril en Barcelona.

Enel video tamibén podéis ver algunos de los mejores momentos de este último año y medio.

This is the ninth track of the album, an intimate song in the style of Beatles’ White Album.

I’ve tried to emulate the sound of the original by doubling the vocals and recording a basic and natural fingerpicking acoustic guitar. I just added a pad sound and some backing vocals to create more intense atmosphere.

And, again, the cover comes with a great lyric video created by Gerard Baró. It really fits with the song and what I wanted to express with the recording.

Esta es la novena canción del álbum, una canción íntima al estilo de White Album de los Beatles.
He tratado de emular el sonido del original doblando las voces y grabando una guitarra acústica muy basica y natural. Solamente he añadido un sonido de pad y algunos coros para crear una atmósfera más intensa.
Y, de nuevo, el cover viene con un gran video creado por Gerard Baró. Realmente encaja con la canción y lo que quería expresar en la grabación.

Well Well Well is the eight track of the record. The most rocker song of the album and one of the most noisy tunes in John’s career.

John, Ringo and Klaus here put the knobs of their instruments to limit and recorded a song with very interesting things for a ’70 recording: the sound of the guitar is AMAZING. I am sure it has been a great inspiration for bands like Nirvana or Radiohead. A very powerful and distorted sound with a very melodic personality. Also the drums, which are saturated and “doubled” by the short delay effect applied all over the song.

Here you are the cover I have recorded and the video that Gerard Baró (edition) and Luc Brandt (photography) have created for the cover.

I want to mention and thank to all the annonimous people from Barcelona that have participated in the video. They were shooted while they were listening to the song.

Well Well Well es el octavo corte del album y seguramente la canción más rockera del mismo, asi como uno de los más potentes de la carrera musical de John Lennon.

John. Ringo y Klaus aquí subieron al máximo los potenciómetros de sus instrumentos y realizaron una grabación con algunas cosas muy interesantes para una grabación de los 70: el sonido de la guitarra es INCREIBLE. Estoy seguro que bandas como Radiohead o Nirvana se han inspirado en ese sonido: saturado al máximo pero con una gran personalidad melódica. También destacar las baterias que también fueron distorsionadas y “dobladas” con un efecto de delay corto durante toda la canción.

Quiero agradecer y mencionar a toda la gente anónima de Barcelona que se prestaron a participar en el video. Fueron fotografiados mientras escuchaban la canción.

This is very important in order to continue the project: I’m working hard to clean and renovate the studio where I work on the covers of Plastic Ono Man and other projects.
I am very happy to tell you that the new home-studio, but kept almost all devices will be a more pleasant work space and will feature new computer, operating system and software … and some other new gadget😉

Esto es algo muy importante de cara a continuar el proyecto: estoy trabajando duro en limpiar y reformar el estudio donde trabajo en los covers de Plastic Ono Man y otros proyectos.
Estoy muy feliz de poder contaros que el nuevo home-studio, aunque conservará casi todos los aparatos, será un espacio más agradable para el trabajo y contará con nuevo ordenador, sistema operativo y software…y algun que otro nuevo aparatito 😉

Although the last few months I have been working on this project “secretly”, there have been things related to web design and approach to the project in which I needed something (or a lot) of help.
There are a few friends that I can not pass up the opportunity to say THANK YOU. Without your help it would have been very difficult to start all this in the way it has started.
My thanks to Clara Edo and Maria García, for her contribution to the design of some elements of this website, to Vicen Martínez, Dave Danvers and Gerard Baró for their advice and continue with much interest this project since it was just an outline. And also, to Adrià Arnal drummer in Malaventura and Prypiat Escape for lending me his drums, an essential element to record the first song and thing that encouraged me to record the following.

Aunque estos últimos meses haya estado trabajando en este proyecto “secretamente”, ha habido cosas relacionadas con el diseño de la web y el planteamiento del proyecto en las que he necesitado algo (o mucha) de ayuda.
Hay unos cuantos amigos a los que no puedo dejar pasar la oportunidad de decir GRACIAS! Sin su ayuda me habría sido muy difícil empezar todo esto de la manera que ha empezado.
